George Albert Easterling Jr. - A retired carpenter with a heart of gold, passed away on October 7, 2023, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was born on February 18, 1953, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. George was a true gentleman who always took pleasure in helping others, and his compassionate nature touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Throughout his life, George exemplified dedication and hard work. After serving his country as a veteran of the US Army, he pursued a career as a carpenter. George's craftsmanship was unparalleled, and his skill and attention to detail were evident in every project he undertook. His passion for woodworking extended beyond the workbench and into his everyday life. Family and friends often marveled at his ability to transform simple pieces of wood into beautifully crafted creations.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, George had an adventurous spirit and loved spending time outdoors. Hunting, golfing and bass fishing were three of his greatest passions. The serenity of nature brought him solace and joy, and he cherished every moment spent casting his line or roaming through the woods in search of game.

George was not only skilled with his hands but also possessed an immense capacity for love and compassion. His heart was seemingly infinite in its ability to care for others. Whether it was assisting a neighbor with household repairs or offering words of encouragement to a friend in need, George never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

George will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jaymie (Richard Murphy) Easterling and Jessica (Clifton) Bryan; grandchildren Gavyn Bryan and Madelyn Bryan; his sisters Beverly (Jim Ritchie) Duncan and Mayvalan Hudson; nephew Donnie Hudson Jr.; niece Sabrina Williamson; and nephew Shane Hudson. 

Preceded in death by his parents George Easterling Sr.; his mother Viola Easterling; sister Jessie Lynn Easterling; nephew Ottis Patterson.

As we celebrate George's life, let us remember his selflessness, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we navigate through life's challenges. While his physical presence may no longer be with us, his spirit will forever reside in our hearts.

Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded.  Inurnment, with honors, will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery, on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund
