George Patrick Childers

George Patrick Childers, age 62, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
Mr. Childers was born in Vicksburg to Graham and Bessie Jane Childers on January 16, 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War. He received several awards and citations for meritorious service. After the service, he worked for the Civil Service before going to work in the hotel industry as a night auditor, and he was an avid NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra ""Debbie"" Abrams Childers and his father, Graham Childers.
He is survived by his children, Tiffany Huber (Daniel) of Mobile, AL, and Theresa Kleinman (Alan) of Vicksburg; granddaughter, Michelle Kleinman; and siblings, Barbara Childers and Gerald Childers.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 3:00 p.m. Friends may visit 30 minutes prior to services.
Burial will be at a later date at Biloxi National Cemetery.
