Gary L. “Pete” McCardle, age 83, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Gulfport. He was a native of Brooklyn, MS and resided in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis McCardle and Willie Mae Davis McCardle; his brother, Robert Dale McCardle; and his sister, Jimmie Lou Fortner.
Pete is survived by his son, Gary Dean McCardle (Mallory); and his grandson, Blake McCardle.
He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and Seabees and retired as a welder. Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, karaoke, spending time with his son and grandson.
Pete was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and was the former Commander of the VFW Post 2539.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Interment with honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
