Gary William "GW" Simpson

Gary ""GW"" Simpson, 68, of Gulfport, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
GW was born on August 2, 1947 to Rev. Beverly Foster Simpson and Rosemarie Fischer Simpson. He was a brilliant entrepreneur with a passion for music, especially Gospel, disc golf, playing guitar and his 3 yorkies, Alvin, Sassy and Lucky.
He was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Gulfport where he led the Fishers of Men group.
GW was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his sister, Sharyn Elizabeth Randall.
He was a faithful and loving husband of 25 years to his wife, Kathy L. Simpson. He is also survived by his son, Gregory Wyatt Simpson; his daughter, Joy Simpson East; two step-sons, Derrick Cothren and Mac Cothren; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Wayne Simpson and John Mark Simpson; his baby sister, Rene' Simpson Kennon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 2nd from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the First Assembly of God, 2600 22nd Ave., Gulfport.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit, MS.
