Gary Allen Roche, age 68, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in New Orleans, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Gary, a quiet and reserved man, enjoyed trawling, duck hunting, and was very involved with his children's sports and scouting activities. He served as a Duke in the Krewe of Nereids and the Krewe of Diamondhead and was a member of the Diamondhead Yacht Club and American Legion Post #77. After 32 years of service, he retired as an inspector with the Food and Drug Administration.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Roche and Jonnie Bordages Roche; sister, Pennie Roche; life long best friend, Clarence "Skeeter" Green.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janet Hartt Roche of Diamondhead; children, Alton Roche of Rocky Hill Community, Wesley Roche of Rocky Hill Community, Jason Roche of Diamondhead, and Carrie Leigh Roche Barraza (Miguel) of Dedeaux; brother, Steven Roche (Faye) of Lakeshore, MS; granddaughter, Sierra Roche; step-grandchildren, Brandon Barraza, Mariah Barraza, and Gracelyn Barraza; nieces, Jamie Laird and Tami Roche Ledet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian. A visitation will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 from 1:00PM unit service time at the church. A burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church building fund, Wounded Warrior Project, or to any Veterans charity of donor's choice.
