Gabriele Hedwig
Seidler
Jul 14, 1953 — Sep 14, 2026
Gulfport
Gabriele (Gaby) Elfriede Hedwig Seidler passed away at her residence on September 14, 2026 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 73. She was born on July 14, 1953 in Bremerhaven, Germany to Edmund Seidler and Edith Pientka. She moved to the United States on May 24, 1964 with her mother and sister when she was only 10 years old.
Gaby attended St. Martin High School in Ocean Springs, MS. She worked at her mom’s German restaurant, Little Hamburger, and was known to help her mom in the steakhouse at The White House in Biloxi, MS. She has worked many jobs in the food/hospitality industry, and many people will remember her from EOs. She could be found in her kitchen making all sorts of treats in her spare time, and she loved sharing what she made with others. Gaby never had children of her own, but she loved all her nieces and nephews tremendously. Later in life she enjoyed weekend visits with her sister, often arguing over where to eat because they could both cook just about anything any restaurant could serve - except sushi. Gaby was also fortunate to have a friend like Stacey to keep her company and help with running errands. Her unique sense of humor and infectious laugh will never be forgotten by those that were fortunate to know her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edmund Seidler; her mother, Edith Pientka Ostermeyer-Gilds; her aunt, Christa Ingeborg Pientka Stapp; her uncle, Philip Stapp; and her brother-in-law, Clint Baum.
Gaby is survived by her sister, Sigrid Baum of Ovett, MS; her nieces, Teresa Raybourn (Michael) of Laurel, MS, Tanya McCraney (Michael) of Laurel, MS, Robin Newell (Chuck) of Richton, MS; her nephew, Dexter Landrum (Leslie) of Ovett, MS; her great-nieces, Shelby Gregory (Chance) of Laurel, MS, Alyssa Austin (Jonathan) of Sandersville, MS, Karina McCraney of Laurel, MS, Brianna Newell of Richton, MS; her great-nephews, Charles Holifield (Maggie) of Laurel, MS, Will Newell of Richton, MS; her dog, Fawn; and a host of cousins, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Our Aunt Gaby has requested that we hold a private memorial to honor her with close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to your local animal shelter in Gaby’s memory.
Riemann Family Funeral Home,11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, is honored to serve the family during this time.
