Fusako von Kampen, age 86, of Saucier, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Gulfport. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seizo and Minako Akita of Japan, and her husband, Donald von Kampen of Saucier.

She is survived by her brothers, Nariyoshi (Hiromi) Akita of Kanagawa, Japan, and Toshiaki Yagi (Kyoko) of Tokyo, Japan, and her children, Marie von Kampen of Saucier, Mary Scott (Richard) of Long Beach, and Robert von Kampen of Nantucket, MA; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and extended family in Japan.

The family wishes to thank the staff and physicians at Memorial Physician Clinics, Orange Grove Medical Specialties, Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA, and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Gulfport for their kind and compassionate care. 

A graveside service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2715 Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS, 39501.
