Frona Sprinkle Oestriecher

Mrs. Frona Hannah Sprinkle Oestriecher passed away June 11, 2013 at the age of 95.
Frona was a native of Pass Christian and a resident of Long Beach for over 50 years. She was retired from Civil Service at Keesler Air Force Base. She was Queen of the Pass Christian Carnival Association in 1975, a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary Post, Member of the Mississippi Coast Jazz Society, and a Memorial Hospital Volunteer for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oestriecher; her parents, Levi Sprinkle and Etta Ruddock Sprinkle; sisters, Vivian Thibodeaux, Floretta Durel, Viola Carco, and Alma Lawson; and brothers, Lee Sprinkle and James Sprinkle.
She is survived by her nieces, Mildred ""Zuzu"" (Eddie) Reid, Shannon (Jessie) Parker both of Pass Christian, Etta Humphreys, Betty Jo (Robert) Bishop, Frona (Don) Bearden, Marie (Gene) Wise, Louise Durel all of Long Beach, Vivian (Earl) Doherty of Baldwin, FL, Floretta (Otis) Guardia of Moline, IL, Etta (Anthony) Liccardi of Gretna, LA, Ronnie Sprinkle of Diamondhead, and Elizabeth (Mike) Martin of Vacaville, CA; and nephews, Woodrow Carco of Gulfport, Willie Paul Durel of Saucier, Barry Lawson and Patrick Lawson of Las Vegas, NV, Alvin Lawson of Vacaville, CA, and Joseph Lawson of Atascadero, CA. She is also survived by her step-daughters, Geri Oestriecher (Gene) Cost of San Marcos, TX and Anita Oestriecher (Jerry) Gervais of Metairie, LA; grandchildren, Frank (Jill) Slipher, Denise (Brian) Rau both of Metairie, LA, Joe (Jeannine) Slipher of Hammond, LA, John (Ashley) Gervais of Folsom, LA, Valerie Cost Morrison, James Cost, Steven (Lauren) Cost, Cynthia (John) Underwood, Chris (Priscilla) Cost all of San Marcus, TX.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 14, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 Church Avenue in Pass Christian, MS. The funeral mass will be conducted Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary, with Rev. Christopher Colby officiating. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Pass Christian.
