Frederick Peter Westermyer

October 15, 1933 — December 7, 2013

Frederick (Fred) P. Westermeyer, age 80, passed away December 7, 2013, in Gulfport, MS. Fred was born October 15, 1933, to the late Frederick W. Westermeyer and Lauretta Cassello in Providence, Rhode Island. He was an only child.
On July 17, 1950, while stationed at Keesler he married the love of his life, Tomsey F. Finch. Of this union they had 3 children, JoAnn Warden (Dan), Bobbie Fisler (Gary) and Frederick W. Westermeyer; they also had nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Fred was a man of many talents. He was a boat builder and in the 1960's he built a boat and took his family through Mexico and South America. Later he and his wife started Gulfport Marine Supply. During his ""off"" time he made wooden toys, that he enjoyed giving away. Then he ""retired"" and started making jewelry, which he also enjoys giving away.
He was a past master of Masonic Lodge #422, where he received numerous awards and he was a member of Church of Christ in Long Beach.
He also leaves several friends to cherish his memory. He had a special brother in law, Reginald M. Finch (Edna); and two very special friends, Ben Frataccia (Bonnie) and Sandy Hall.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, December 14, 2013 beginning at 10:00am, Long Beach Church of Christ with a service at 11:00am in the church sanctuary. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach assisted the family with arrangements. An online guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com
