Frank Joseph Wilem, Sr., age 90, of Gulfport, passed away on November 23, 2014.
Mr. Wilem was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred C. Willoughby Wilem, his parents, Nickdem and Ruth Wilem, 1 sister, Virginia Smith, and 2 brothers, Herman Wilem and Richard ""Dickie"" Wilem.
Survivors include his son, Frank J. (DeeDee) Wilem, Jr., 3 grandchildren, Michael Garcia, Chris Garcia, and Brittany Michele Wilem, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Wilem was a native of Phoebus, VA and enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during WWII on the USS Ringgold, DD500 and the USS Cross, DE448. He later graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering and worked for several defense contractors. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Huntsville, AL and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Mr. Wilem was a member of Handsboro United Methodist Church, enjoyed painting, square dancing, camping with his family, and he especially enjoyed fishing with his son on ""Team Vixen.""
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4 - 6 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi. The service will be at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at 10 am Wednesday in Biloxi National Cemetery.
