Frank Whiston, MCPO (Ret), age 80, of McHenry, passed away, Saturday, February 9, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, February 14 at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting in kind memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Frank was born September 15, 1932, in Woburn, Massachusetts to Frank and Isadore (Grammie) Whiston and later married the former Peg Sells of Chattanooga, TN in Ringgold, GA. Frank dedicated his life to the service of his country and spent 26 years in U.S. Navy. He retired in 1976 as a respected Seabee and Master Chief Petty Officer. Frank enjoyed reading, gardening, playing golf, and spending time with his children.
Frank is survived by his adoring wife Peg of McHenry, MS, his two sons, Jay Whiston (Sandra) of Cibolo, TX, Glen Whiston of Seguin, TX, and his sister, Janet Whiston of Brooksville, FL.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, assisted the family with arrangements.
