Mr. Frank Robinson McCreary III passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at his farm in Conecuh County, AL. He was 78. Frank was born in Guntersville, AL and grew up in Monroeville, AL.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Ann Marks McCreary, of Pensacola, FL. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Other survivors include their sons, Frank “Ben” Robinson McCreary IV (Madison) of Eau Claire, WI and John Huntoon McCreary (Judy) of Long Beach, MS; grandson, Frank “Quint” Robinson McCreary V; and sister, Frances “Patsy” Brickell, of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank R. McCreary II and Alice Rich Walker, and sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Bates.
As a senior in high school, Frank served as a legislative page to Alabama Congressman Jack Edwards and graduated from Capitol Page High School, Washington, DC. He went on to graduate from Auburn University and Mississippi College School of Law. Frank practiced law in Gulfport and Long Beach, MS. He served as City Attorney of Long Beach for many years under several city administrations. Frank also served in the Army National Guard in Alabama and Mississippi.
Frank was a great lover of dogs, strays and purebred alike, and had several “packs of his own” over the years. Two of his dogs, Sunny and Zeru, survive him.
Frank will be buried in Brooklyn, AL, alongside his father and grandfather. Services will be held later in the fall.
