Frank O. King Sr., - Of Ocean Springs, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.  Born on December 13, 1951, in Biloxi, MS.  Frank led a remarkable life filled with accomplishments, simple joys, and cherished relationships. His passing has left an immense void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Frank retired after 42 years, from Ingalls Shipbuilding. Throughout the years, Frank developed lifelong friendships with his colleagues and earned a reputation for his professionalism and hard work.

He was an avid fisherman who delighted in spending countless hours casting lines into calm waters. Nature held a special place in Frank's heart, as he relished birdwatching and found peace in being near the water and feeling the gentle Gulfcoast breezes. These simple pleasures brought immense joy to his life.

Frank's warm presence will forever be missed by those who loved him most. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 27 years Ann King (nee Rogers), who he shared a deep bond of love and companionship with throughout their many years.


Frank was also a loving father to Erica Layton, Frank (Eva Moran) King, Lynell (Steve) Trochesset, Mike (Angela) Heise Jr., Jon (Kelley Hill) Heise, son-in-law Jack Feigel and a cherished grandfather to Cole Layton, Cady Layton, Jacob Trochesset, Seth Trochesset, Annika Trochesset, Donovan Trochesset, Koby Heise, Hudson Heise, Wolf Heise, Chief Heise, Kaleb Dick, Tripp Heise, Juliana Heise, Ty A Feigel, Taylor Feigel; great grandpa to Adalynn Heise, Harlee Heise and Charlotte Heise. His presence brought immense joy and happiness to their lives.

He is also survived by his brother Irvin (Rosemary) King and his sister Anita (Mike) Ross. Their bond was unbreakable and filled with love.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents John and Emily King, a brother Warren King, and daughter Melissa Heise Feigel.  

His kind nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of all those fortunate to cross paths with him.  As we bid farewell to Frank, let us cherish the memories we shared with him and find solace in the thought that his spirit will forever reside in our hearts. May his soul find eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and admired by all.

In honoring Frank's memory, let us remember the profound lessons he imparted upon us through his actions. His unwavering work ethic, love for nature's simple joys and cherished relationships serves as an inspiration for us all. Frank touched the lives of countless individuals during his time with us and we will forever remain grateful for having had him in our lives.
