In his own words Ben ""had a full life from seeing and raising hell all over the world to turning to Christian ways in my last few years here on earth.""
Ben was born in Towanda, Pennsylvania on February 28, 1928. He served our nation for 36 years....20 years in the Air Force and 16 in Civil Service. During this period, he was stationed in Germany, France, Morocco, Italy, Greenland and numerous places in the States ranging from Kinchloe AFB on the upper peninsula of Michigan to Keesler AFB in Mississippi. He participated in the Berlin Airlift and for many years ran the Air Force's recreation area at Ship Island. One of his most favorite jobs though was running the Wood Hobby Shop at Keesler AFB.
What can be said about this complex man? Ben was a country boy that faced hard times as a child...found a craft as a carpenter and a home and career in the Air Force...lived a life of adventure for many years ...married a woman with two children...then did the best he could to take care of his family.
Ben's sons miss their Dad.
