Frances Xavier Carrubba LeBlanc

Frances Xavier Carrubba LeBlanc at the age 77, passed away July 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Joseph Carrubba, Sr. and Alice Veronica Papania Carrubba; her sister, Virginia Maria Carrubba; her husband, Milton Joseph LeBlanc Jr; her brother-in-law, Mike Necaise, and her great-niece, Fionnuala Wilson.

She is survived by her sisters, Paula (Mike) Spears, Nellie (Walt) Abadie, Anna (Danny) Lizana, and Alice Necaise; her brothers, Paul Carrubba II and Leonard (Eloise) Carrubba; her nieces and nephews, Michael, Amy, Marissa (Brandon), Kyle (Rachel), Paul, Alex (JoAnne), Leon (Lindsey), Joseph, Alicia (Austin), and Lauren (Heath). Her great-nieces and nephews, Sullivan, Tallulah, Renna, Brennan, Laithen, Adalyn, Jasper, Alora, Sienna, Theodore, Angel, Leonardo, Giovanni, Marianna, Lorelei, Gwendolyn, and Hollis; her granddaughter Shana; her loving canine companion, Diamond; and countless other family members and friends.

Frances was a lifelong resident of Long Beach, MS where she was a beloved and respected artist, potter and pastry chef. With her pastry skills she baked countless cakes for birthdays, weddings and any other special event. She painted murals in a number of buildings along the coast to include; Memorial Hospital, The Grand Casino Hotel before Katrina, the Mane Event Hairdesigners, the office of Pediatrician Dr. David Reeves, and Jeff Davis Harper McCaughan Elementary School.

A graduate of Long Beach High School, Frances was a proud member of the drill team, the Bearkittens. After attending Gulf Park College for Women in Long Beach, she completed her education at the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a Dixie Darling, inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Art. She was a longtime member of the Carnival Association of Long Beach, and had the privilege of serving as Grand Duchess for the 1976 season.

Since birth, she was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, where, with her artistic talent, she and her cousin restored the stations of the cross, purchased by the church after Hurricane Katrina. There, she proudly shared her Italian heritage by serving on the St. Joseph’s Altar committee for a number of years.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 13 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach, from 10:00am-11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Long Beach City Cemetery. A reception after interment at St. Thomas Community Center. All are welcome.
