Frances Elaine Belson, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on July 30, 1954, in Mississippi, Elaine was a vibrant part of her community and her family, leaving a legacy of love and joy that will forever be remembered.
Elaine had a diverse career that showcased her commitment to service. Her time as a maître's at Broadwater Royal Terrace and as a server at Vrazel's demonstrated her passion for providing exceptional experiences to others. Later, she contributed her talents as the Assistant Manager at the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, where she made lasting memories and friendships.
A proud graduate of Ocean Springs High School, Class of 1972, Elaine carried the spirit of her hometown throughout her life. She found joy in simple pleasures; from leisurely shopping trips to peaceful walks, she appreciated the beauty of everyday moments. Her heart swelled with pride as she watched her grandchildren playing at the splash pad, their laughter creating echoes of happiness that would resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Elaine also found tranquility in nature, frequently observing the hum of hummingbirds, their grace serving as a reflection of her gentle spirit.
Elaine was a member of the Pentecostal of the Gulf Coast in Biloxi, where she forged deep connections within her faith community. Her love for music was evident in her hobbies; she delighted in playing the guitar and ukulele, often lost in the melodies that filled her home. A passionate reader and writer, Elaine expressed herself through words, bringing her imagination to life.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Angela (Joey) Lemaire, Brittany (Johnathon) Thornton, and Cheyenne (Dylan) Montgomery, who will miss her wit, warmth, and wisdom. Elaine's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Elaine, Sophia, London, Camilla, Scarlett, and Maxwell. Her sisters, Darlene (Melvin) Smith and Michelle (Mike) Thomas, are left to cherish the countless memories they created together over the years. She is also survived by her other relatives—Stephanie, Steven, Ashley, Lauren, Houston, Amanda, Kelsey, Mila, and Samantha—who shared laughter, love, and countless moments of joy with her.
Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony Belson, whose memory she carried in her heart; her mother, Frances I. Dunaway DeCausey; her father, Steven M. DeCausey; and her brother, Steven T. DeCausey. Their absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but their love continues to surround her family in spirit.
Elaine Belson's graveside service will take place at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs on July 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and the light she brought into the world.
In celebrating Elaine’s life, let us remember her boundless love, her passion for music, and the warmth of her spirit. She touched the lives of so many and leaves behind a legacy crafted from love, laughter, and the cherished memories that will be carried on for generations to come.
