Father John T. O'Brien, age 88, of Pass Christian, died Monday, May 18, 2009 in Pass Christian.
Fr. O'Brien was a native of County Galway, Ireland and was a graduate of St. Patrick's College in Carlow, Ireland. He came to the United States in 1946 to begin his ministry. Fr. O'Brien was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Mary O'Brien, and 2 sisters, Maura Curley and Bernadette Lohan.
Survivors include 4 sisters: Sister Mary Anne O'Brien, RSM, Long Beach, Catherine O'Brien, Sister Margaret O'Brien, PVBM, and Patrice O'Brien, 2 brothers, Paddy O'Brien, and Tom, O'Brien, all of Ireland.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 6 - 8 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, Menge Ave., Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will also be from 10:00 - 11:00 am Friday.
Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bay St. Louis.
