Ocean Springs

Floyd 'Wayne' Jones, a dedicated Project Manager and supervisor in the oil refinery industry, passed away peacefully on, Friday, March 15, 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Born on August 18, 1941, in the vibrant city of Biloxi, Wayne's journey was one filled with remarkable experiences that touched the lives of many around him.

His professional career spanned various countries including Libya, Peru, Ecuador, and Bangladesh. His work ethic and leadership skills left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him. His military service in the US Army as a truck driver further exemplified his commitment to serving his country with honor and integrity.

Outside of work, he was a man of diverse interests and talents. From shrimping to gardening, ship building to general construction and consulting in the Ocean Springs area, his passion for life shone through his hobbies. He found joy in every moment spent pursuing his interests and sharing them with those he loved.

However, Wayne's most cherished roles were those of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever be treasured by his surviving family members. His children - Danny W. Jones, Tarrel P. Jones, Angela (Cody) Foster, Patrick W. (Senta) Jones, and Amber Jones - were blessed to have such a caring father figure in their lives.

The bond between Wayne and his grandchildren was truly special. Jessica (Gavin) Tucker, Casey (Ariyana) Jones, Devin (Miranda) Burke, Baileigh Burke, Kaleigh Montiforte, Korey Jones, Logan Jones, Emersyn Foster, Autumn Johnson, and Ryder Wallace - each one holding a unique place in their grandfather's heart. The arrival of great-grandchildren Jaxon Jones, Preston Jones, Ellis Jane Burke only added more joy and laughter to Floyd's life.

The void left by Wayne's passing is deeply felt by his siblings Dianne Bellon, Glenda Dyess, Karen (Arnie) Ward, Laurie Jones, Bunky (Joy) Jones, Janice Delay, Joey Jones, and Chris (Tracy) Jones, as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family members who mourn the loss of a remarkable soul.

In the embrace of eternity, he is reunited with his wife Patricia M. Jones, of whom they shared 57 years of marriage; twin granddaughters Sydney and Lindsey Burke; his parents Vernon "Chief" and Annette B. Jones, brothers Tommy "T.V." Jones and Scott R. Jones. Their spirits intertwined forever as they watch over their family from above.
