Felix Bourgeois Jr., a beloved figure in his community, passed away on November 26, 2024, at the age of 94 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Born on December 16, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Felix dedicated his life to both family and service.

Felix’s career included significant roles at Haspro Brothers and Tulane University, as well as his previous employment with the Regional Transit Authority (RTA). His professional journey was underpinned by a commitment to hard work and serving the community, values he instilled in those around him.

An Army Veteran, Felix proudly served his country and carried the values learned during his military service throughout his life. He had a passion for music, particularly Blues, and enjoyed spending quality time with his family—a source of joy and strength for him.

Felix is survived by his children: Linda (Garfield) Payton of New Orleans, LA; Cynthia (Jerry) Jordan of Kenner, LA; Alice Wilmore of Kenner, LA; Andria Lee of Waveland, MS; Phyllis (Larry) Williams of Kenner, LA; Joel Bourgeois of New Orleans, LA; Felix (Pamela) Bourgeois of Waveland, MS; and Kenneth (Sue) Payne of Larose, LA. He was also the proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, along with 10 great-great-grandchildren, creating a legacy that will be cherished by them all. He is also survived by his brother, Wendell Bourgeois of Franklin, LA, and sister, Linda Bourgeois of Franklin, LA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss him dearly.

Felix was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Claudette Bourgeois, along with his parents, Felix Bourgeois Sr. and Vera Antoine Bourgeois, and siblings Consuella Bradley and Clara Holmes.

A memorial service to honor Felix's life will be held on December 14, 2024, at the Rosenwald Recreation Center located at 1120 S Broad St, New Orleans, LA 70125, starting at 11:30 AM and concluding at 3:30 PM. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man dedicated to those he loved and served.
