Fay Russell Castiglia, age 85, of Long Beach, passed away on May 3, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. and Jewel Russell; her husband, Frank Castiglia, Sr; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Castiglia; and a grandson, Christopher Castiglia.
Mrs. Castiglia is survived by her children, Frankie Castiglia, Russell Castiglia, Cheryl (Howell) Yarbrough, and Julie (Terrell) LaFontaine; her grandchildren, Laura (Jared) Clay, Kristin (Justin) Shaw, Brittany (Joseph) Madison, Amanda Yarbrough, Angela Rios, Wendell Yarbrough, Emily (Josh) Waters, Erin LaFontaine, and Evan LaFontaine; her great-grandchildren, Carter and Cooper Clay, Aubrey and Ryleigh Shaw, Elleigh Madison, Rowan Castiglia, Jason Yarbrough, Braxton (Helen) Rios, Owen, Landon, and Marley Rios, and Delaney Waters; a great-great-grandchild, Cameron Rios; and other relatives and friends.
She was a native of Hattiesburg and a long time resident of Long Beach. Mrs. Castiglia was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Thomas Mother’s Club, the Carnival Association of Long Beach, The Red Hat Society, and the Side-By-Side Respite Program.
She loved attending her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s sports and activities, hosting family events, and spending time with her ladies group.
The family would like to thank Vital Caring Hospice especially Nicole Schneider and Christine Ladner along with all of the other nurses over the past 5 years. They would also like to thank all of the volunteers at the Long Beach Side-by-Side Respite Program.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 9:30 am - 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Side-by-Side Respite c/o First Methodist Church, 208 Pine Street, Long Beach, MS 39560.
The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is serving the family.
