Evelyn Arthur Rodgers was born June 22, 1922 in New Orleans and passed away on December 31, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin T. Arthur and Magdelene Scarovitch Arthur of New Orleans.
She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Slidell High School, where she was the editor of the high school newspaper.
She attended LSU and the University of Chicago where she received her real estate broker's license with Merrill Lynch. While in Chicago, she took an active part in the Billy Graham Crusade. She also worked with the National Youth Administration of New Orleans.
She was secretary to J.E. Walters at Prestressed Concrete and secretary to the Director of the New Orleans Aviation Board.
She was president of the Arts Council in St. Tammany Parish, a gifted artist, model, and active in the Little Theater. She and her husband, Dr. William T. Rodgers, were members of several square dance organizations.
She had one sister, Dolly Arthur Dimitry, in New Orleans.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
