Evelyn Pierce

Evelyn Katherine Pierce, age 88 of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Pierce, Jr., and her granddaughter, Heather Pierce McGlothin.

Ms. Evelyn is survived by her children, Neal Pierce of Vermilion, OH, Debra Rollberg of Biloxi, MS, Mark Pierce of St. Martin, MS, Brian Pierce of Biloxi, MS and Tina Pierce of Biloxi, MS; her grandchildren, Hollie of Texas, Lester, Lance, Keily and Mandy all of Ohio, Eric, Kendra, Samantha (Ray), Samuel, Amanda, Brittany all of Mississippi and B.J. of Wyoming; great grandchildren, Paige and Andy of Texas, Paul, Sam, Teagan, and Tristin of Ohio, Bree, Zoey, Ray, Skyler, Dayne, Jasper, Seth, Kayla and Austin of Mississippi; and great-great grandchild, Evelyn Presley of MS.

She was raised on a 160-acre farm in Edwardsville, IL, where she learned the values of hard work, compassion, and community that would define her life. While attending nursing school, she met the love of her life, Samuel. After graduating from college in St. Louis, MO, she and Samuel married in 1957, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love and service.

She devoted over 50 years to the nursing profession, working in hospitals, nursing homes, and providing care through home health services. Her calling was more than a career — it was a way of life. She had a gift for caring for others, whether they were patients, friends, or strangers in need. Her heart and her home were always open.

Known affectionately by many as “Mom,” she welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. She never let anyone go hungry, often feeding whoever came through her door, and she lovingly “adopted” many neighborhood children as her own. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her compassion, generosity, and unwavering care.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery.
