Eugene "Gene" Strader, 77, of Saucier, Mississippi, passed away on August 4, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mae (Moline) Strader, and by his brothers, Doug Strader and Warren Strader, and his sister, Debbie.
He shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Christine Strader.
Gene is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Lori McCaffrey and her husband, Matt, and Diane Rainey and her husband, David.
He was a proud grandfather to Bailey Long and her husband, Myles; Cami Froman and her husband, Justus; Reagan Rainey; Ian McCaffrey; and Caoilinn McCaffrey. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Rory Froman, Rhett Froman, Riggs Froman, and Elliot Long.
Gene is also survived by his siblings, Donna Hanson and her husband, Larry; Claudia Zeigler and her husband, Larry; Delmar Strader and his wife, Bea; Verne Strader; and Dorothy Starrett and her husband, Roger; He additionally leaves behind 21 nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Born in Alberta, Canada, Gene became a proud citizen of the United States in 1970. That same year, he joined the United States Army, where he served as an airplane machinist. Following his military service, Gene began a distinguished career with the Biloxi VA, serving as a maintenance engineer for 31 years before retiring.
Gene was a proud 32° Scottish Rite Freemason, a member of Joppa Shrine, and a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group. He loved spending time with his family, cherished his pets, and was an avid Harley rider. His generous spirit, dedication to his family, and passion for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be planned for a later date.
Gene's legacy of love, service, friendship, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
