Etheleen Johnson, 97, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Pass Christian, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lillian Bennett; husband, Edward Johnson, who she married in 1936. She was born in Roanoke, VA, on August 5, 1918, and lived in Miami, FL before moving to Diamondhead.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Edward Johnson of Ukiah, CA; daughter, Joy Johnson of Lakeland, FL; sister Dorothy Sierveld; nephew, Rick Sierveld (Mary Alice) all of Diamondhead, MS; niece, Kathy Lorio of Mandeville, LA.
Etheleen loved life and was adventuresome, she had little fears. Among the things she enjoyed in her life were horseback riding, water skiing, snow skiing which she took up at age 65, golfing, card playing. At the age of 80 she insisted on going white water rafting to celebrate her birthday. Etheleen was devout Christian of the Baptist faith and will be sadly missed by all who loved her. For the past 3 years she has lived at Pass Oaks, Pass Christian, MS, where she was well cared for by Kim Zulli and her staff.
