Ernest Lee Thomas (age 91) of Cypress, TX and formerly of Gulfport, MS. passed away on January 14, 2016
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Helen Thomas; son Larry Keith Thomas; parents, Estel Lee Thomas, and Myrtle Hughes Thomas; and sisters, Catherine Sheene, Lina Stienburger, and Margaret O'Brian.
He is survived by his spouse Irma E. Thomas; daughters and son-in-laws, Betty Thomas Cesnik (Fred), and Margaret Thomas Badurak (Ted); grandchildren Lee Ann Cesnik Norton, Lisa Cesnik Broussard, Frederick Cesnik, Teddy Badurak, Vickie Badurak Rogers, Kenneth Badurak, and Scott Thomas; 19 great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Mr. Thomas owned the former Dixie Tape Company in Gulfport, had numerous other companies and real estate investments and retired in sales. Mr. Thomas was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.
Mr. Thomas enjoyed good food and spending time with family. In earlier years he enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, fishing, and was an auto-racing fan. He was a dedicated member of Bible Baptist Church until he moved to Texas to be with family.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, from 9:00am - 11:00am, where a service will begin at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery.
