Eric D. Wooten, 61, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Eric was preceded in death by his beloved father; his cherished wife of 29 years, Maggie Marquez-Wooten; his nephew, Jonathan Koberna, as well as his Nana and Grandaddy.

He is survived by his devoted children, Shannon (Haynes) Wooten-Cole and Austin (Elizabeth) Marquez-Wooten; his siblings, Leslie Koberna, Kimberly (Harry) Rosenberg, and Todd (Maureen) Wooten; along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A proud alumnus of Biloxi High School class of 1982, Eric furthered his education at the University of Southern Mississippi, Emory University, and the University of Mississippi, where he earned his law degree. For over 30 years, he practiced law with integrity and dedication. Alongside Maggie, Eric dedicated two decades to wildlife rescue, embodying their shared passion for nature and conservation. Their love of travel took them across Europe, creating countless cherished memories. He was an avid fisherman and a passionate Ole Miss supporter — Hotty Toddy!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Paul Chapel in Pass Christian. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodside Wildlife Rescue in Pass Christian, honoring Eric’s lifelong commitment to wildlife and conservation.
