Emily Ware Herrington, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in Gulfport.
As a proud, life-long resident of the MS Gulf Coast, she was a Christian woman and was a loving mother. She was an expert at the jitterbug and danced into her mid-eighties. Mrs. Herrington retired from Civil Service at Kessler Air Force Base, and she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross/RSVP at Kessler Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Ware and Laura Smiley Ware; husband, Sam Herrington; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Emmett of Gulfport; and her sister, Lillian Ware White (Frank) of Gulfport.
A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Monday, December 14, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a visitation beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers family requests that donations be made to Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501.
