Elton Edward Ladner, age 83 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Friday, April 3, 2015, in Gulfport.
Mr. Ladner retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation as an Assistant to the Highway Commissioner, after many years of service. He was also employed with Jay-Jay Chevrolet-Buick for 25 years and was a former deputy with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, Gulfport Elks Lodge 978, Krewe of Gemini, and Krewe of Cavaliers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer & Elvrine Moran Ladner; his sisters, Velean Perkins and Velma Thompson and a brother, Eldon Ladner.
Mr. Ladner is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Barbara Patton Ladner of Gulfport; his children, Mike (Janet) Ladner of Crosby, TX, Diane Conn, Donna Ladner, Lyndon Ladner, Rodney Ladner and Angie (Frank) Nezzio, and Deanna Ladner; his brother, Eldridge (Henrietta) Ladner; his grandchildren, Tammy Conn, Nathan (Kailey) Ladner, Natalie (A.J.) West, Courtney Ladner, Nikki Nezzio; his great grandchildren, Blayton Necaise and Edison West; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, from 6pm-8pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Gardens in Gulfport.
