Elsie Palermo

Elsie "Nell" Parker Helton Palermo, age 72, of Long Beach, MS, passed away on March 16, 2019.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sha Marie Helton Flannery; four sisters, Ruby Jo Ortez, Ruth Smith, Anise Poindexter, and Arbelle Albright; two brothers, George Parker and Johnny Parker.

Nell is survived by her husband, Gary A. Palermo; her son, Johnny R. Helton, Jr. (Debbie), of Long Beach; her daughter, Donna Helton Boudreau of Pembroke, NH; her eleven grandchildren, Kristopher Gaylord of Ocean Springs, Scott Pavlisick (Tonya) of South Dakota, Steven Pavlisick in the Army, Sara O'Connor (Ryan) of New Hampshire, Michael Boudreau (Amy) of Connecticut, Heather Lockhart of Texas, Nikki Flannery of Long Beach, Jeremy Helton (Kelsey) of Long Beach, Joshua Helton of Long Beach, Jacob Helton of Long Beach, and Rebecca Helton of Long Beach; her six great grandchildren, Ryleigh O'Connor, Emily O'Connor and Ivy O'Connor, all of New Hampshire, Liam Smith, Johnny Helton, and Madisyn Helton all of Long Beach, MS. her three sisters, Mary Wicktom (Jim) of Diamondhead, MS, Barbara Prestwood (Curtis) of Gulfport, and Lillie Mae Whittington of Texas; and two brothers, Leon Dalton Parker of Diamondhead, and William Barber (Cindy) of Vancleave.
Nell enjoyed things such as listening to gospel music, working in the garden, cooking, playing  Scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, and watching the Saints. The biggest love of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved each of them dearly.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
