Elsie Marion Holston Blackwell, born in Hillsdale, MS, joined her loved ones in Heaven on July 29, 2016.
Mrs. Blackwell was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother in her 92 years. Her determination and loving spirit inspired everyone who made her acquaintance. In her youth, she enjoyed competitive singing, playing basketball, and being president of Lyman High School class of 1941. As an adult, she was devoted to the care of her family.
Mrs. Blackwell is preceded in death by her husband, Olen Blackwell, a son, Russell David Blackwell, a daughter, Catherine Faye Webb and her husband, Jon D. Webb, and a grandson, Andrew Webb, parents, Sydney J. Holston and Clyde Smith Holston, her siblings, James Dallas Holston, Myrtle Crews, Frances Peterman, Catherine Holston Blackwell, and Hilda Holston.
Left to cherish memories are her daughter, Marion (Allen) Weger, her sister, O'Nita Malley, grandchildren, Melinda (Terri) Webb, Russell (Leslie) Webb, Amy (Rich) Winter, Jessica (Jason) Brewer, and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nugent UMC Food Pantry, 13183 John Clark Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, from 1 - 2 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS. The funeral service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.
