Elouise Roberts Hopson, age 81, of Gautier, formerly of Crowville, LA, passed away on May 28, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alvin Hopson, Sr.; her daughter, Patsy Hopson; her parents, Eddie and Leona Jones Roberts; siblings, Willard and Mercille Roberts, Nellie and RE Westberry, Clive Till (brother-in-law), Ollie Mae and Al Killingsworth, Lottie B. and Cedric Fletcher, and Margie and Buster Blades; In-laws, J.D. and May Hopson, Phillip Bible, Edith Hopson; and grandson, Chad Sutton.
She is survived by her children, Brenda and Bill Dunlap of Moss Point, Pam Bible of Gautier, and Joe Hopson, Jr. and Kay Corley; sisters-in-law, Sue Hopson and Ann and Tommy Meachum; grandchildren, Karri and Billy, Steven and Gerry, Shannon and Cathleen, Ted and anna, Julie and Cary, Delia and David, Beanita and John, Zoya, Danielle, Frank, Allie, and Morgan; great grandchildren, Amber, Alizabeth, Paxton, Conner, Austin, Ashton, Addison, Jim, Ameliah, Alexander, Aydan, Mikayla, Jack, Hayden, and Alex; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Elouise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She touched everyone she knew with love and smiles. She never met a stranger. She had a talent for making you feel like she had known and loved you forever. A nephew said, he realizes now how much better his childhood was because of Aunt Weese. She never met a stranger. Her house was always full because she made everyone feel loved and welcome. She was a kind southern lady who was always smiling. She was always the first to show up when someone was in need, usually with her famous homemade banana pudding. She loved the water. She loved to fish in Lake D'Arbonne late at night under the lights. She would sit for hours on the back porch of her house in Gautier, MS, waiting for the neighborhood alligator to make an appearance. She will be greatly missed by so many, but none more than her three children and her many grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 2:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. at Washington Ave., West Jackson County, with a visitation for family and friends from 1:00 PM until the service.
Burial will be on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Crowville Masonic Cemetery, Crowville, LA, at 12:30 pm.
A reception for family and friends will be at Hill Ridge Baptist Church immediately following the interment.
