Elmer Auther Nichols III, age 55, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, passed away on June 17, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1971, in South Carolina.

Known to family and friends as “Nick,” he was a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis and a proud graduate of Bay High School. Nick was a well-known bartender throughout the Gulf Coast and spent many years serving the community at the FireDog in downtown Bay St. Louis. He truly loved his career and the friendships he built along the way, bringing laughter, kindness, and joy to countless people throughout the years.

Above all else, Nick’s greatest pride and joy were his two children and granddaughter. He cherished the time spent with his family and the memories they created together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Nichols and Juanita Nichols.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas Nichols; his daughter, Lindsey Gousset (Parker); his beloved granddaughter, Kylie Gousset; his sisters, Cindy Speer, Kathy Raskett (Jim), and Debbie Danilson; and his bonus children, Kristen Gipson, Tyler Smith, and Isabella Smith.

Nick will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family will hold a private memorial honoring Mr. Nichols.
