Elizabeth Lee Reeves Roberts

Lee Roberts was born March 15, 1918, in Lyman; the daughter of W. J. and Carrie Reeves. She was the last living granddaughter of Lyman Reeves, the founder of Lyman, MS.
She graduated from Lyman High School in 1937. She married S. Dean Roberts on January 19, 1943, and her beloved son, Richard, was born November 15, 1950. She lived in Gulfport until 1970, when she moved to Jackson, where she and her husband owned and operated three Midas Muffler shops in Jackson and Pearl. She worked for the Bell Telephone Company for 33 years, retiring in 1980. Lee moved to Madison in 1981, and resided there until her death on August 8, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Roberts; her son, Richard Roberts; her parents, W. J. and Carrie Reeves; her brothers and sisters, Annette Johnson, Harold Reeves, Julian Reeves, Wilma Fayard, Thomas L. Reeves, and Pat Reeves.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Gloria Reeves of San Diego, CA, Lois Reeves of Long Beach, and Pal Reeves of Biloxi; her nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her many friends.
Lee was a faithful member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Madison, and was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Gulfport and of Lyman Methodist Church in Lyman.
Lee was an artist and loved to paint, and became enamored of china painting, becoming a member of the MS Porcelain Artist Guild, producing many beautiful pieces of painted china, an art she practiced the rest of her life.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, with a visitation for family and friends from 12:00 PM until the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
