Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Thornburg

Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Thornburg, age 59, of Gulfport, passed away on August 1, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thornburg, Sr and Myrna Allen Thornburg; a brother, John Thornburg, Jr; and a sister, Peggy Herring.

Liz is survived by her sister, Mary (Brendan) Gibbons; a half-sister, Shelia (Tim) Davis; a niece, Analese Gibbons; 2 nephews, Kurt Ladner and Michael Hoda; and other relatives and friends.

She was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and was a 1984 graduate of Gulfport High School. Liz was currently employed with Coast Radio Group. She enjoyed coastal photography, spending time with friends at Jeepin the Coast and the Long Beach Mardi Gras parade, New Orleans Saints Football, and Atlanta Braves Baseball. Liz was a faithful member of The Nourishing Place in Gulfport.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, meals, visits, and kind words shared during this time. Your support has brought comfort and strength and remembered someone so deeply loved. Thank you for walking beside us. The family would also like to thank Jason Green and the staff at Riemann’s for the care given to Liz under these circumstances.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to The Nourishing Place, 606 Tennessee Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 10 - 11 am at The Nourishing Place, 606 Tennessee Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. A memorial service will be at 11 am in the church.
