Eleonora Marguerite Carrubba

Eleonora Marguerite Greco Carrubba, age 89, went straight to Heaven on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in Gulfport. Eleonora was a woman of great strength and character rooted in her faith, a faith that she instilled in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest achievement and joy in life were her six children who were each ""her favorite.""
Eleonora had a loving selfless spirit that was infectious to all who met her. Called ""Muzz"" by her children and all of their friends, she was also known as Sister Nora, Aunt Nora, MeMaw, Honey and Noni to numerous nieces, nephews, friends, etc.
Eleonora was preceded in death by the love of her life, Benjamin L. Carrubba (her husband of 60 years), her parents Santo and Josephine Greco, her sister Mary Greco Hill and her brother John Antonio Greco. She is survived by sons John Carrubba (Pamela), Steven Carrubba, Michael Carrubba (Carrie) and Richard Carrubba; and daughters Jo Ann Carrubba (Mel Smith) and Marguerite Carrubba; grandchildren, Jennifer Gross, Stefanie Bridges (Sam), Warren and Erin Carrubba; Stevie Frasure (Jesse); great-grandchildren Bailey, Sidney and Reesa Gross and Benjamin, Beatty and Eleonora Elise Bridges; her sister Rose Greco Maske; and many, many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Menge Avenue in Pass Christian on Saturday, November 5, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. in the church by the Rev. Mike Austin. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorial contributions be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1655 McGill Avenue, Mobile, AL 36604-1299.
