Eleanor Ruth Brasher passed away Sunday November 19, 2017 at her home in Pass Christian. She was born in McLain, Mississippi, attended high school there, and graduated from Providence School of Nursing, Mobile, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertis and Uler Lee Brannan, and three siblings.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Richard "Dicky" Brasher; children Robin (Tracy) Dotson and Richard (Joy) Brasher; three siblings James T. (Violet) Brannan, Bobby Sam (Tina) Brannan, and Betty Rose Geiger; and the grandchildren, Sydney and Hayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth retired as a registered nurse with VA hospital after more than 30 years of service. The family expresses their thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, PDN Home Health, and to volunteer Wanda Lawrence. Special thanks also goes to Leslie Smith, a neighbor who assisted Ruth day and night for a period of time prior to help from the aforementioned. Lastly, Ruth's pride and joy, her dog Lester, was at her side during her illness and at then time of her passing.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Bay St. Louis with a visitation for family and friends from 9:00 AM until the Mass.
Burial will be in McLain Cemetery, Greene County. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Pass Christian, is serving the family, and memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com .
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, www.hssm.org .
