Eldridge ""EL"" Garcia, 92, born and raised in Lakeshore and was the oldest living person in Lakeshore, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2016.
Mr. Garcia was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the VFW #4808 of Lakeshore, St. John Catholic Church of Lakeshore and St. Ann Catholic Church, Clermont Harbor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Viola Garcia; his wife, Natalie Favre Garcia; daughter, Rebecca Carver; and his siblings, Gordon Garcia, LeRoy Garcia, Doyle Garcia, Arvine Garcia, Warren Garcia, Viola Luxich, Carmella Gill, Elvira Ladner and Thelma Serpa.
He is survived by three daughters, Karen Smith (Alvin), Cheryl Bilbo (Dale) and Ruth Ellen Henslee; and he was the best ""Paw Paw"" to his 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9th at St. Ann Catholic Church, Clermont Harbor, where family and friends may visit one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Lakeshore Cemetery.
