Elaine Nabers, a beloved long-time in-home caregiver, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in Perkinston, Mississippi. She was born on December 17, 1943, in her hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Elaine was known for her kind and gentle nature, which shone through in her dedicated career.

Elaine's love for caregiving extended beyond her professional life into her personal interests. She had a passion for gardening and nurturing her flowers, finding solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Her culinary skills were unmatched as she delighted family and friends with her delicious homemade meals. From a young age, while growing up on a ranch, Elaine formed a special bond with horses, cherishing every moment spent with these majestic creatures.

In addition to her successful career and hobbies, Elaine was a proud graduate of Hattiesburg High School.

Elaine's legacy is carried on by her surviving family members including her husband of 45 years, Larry Nabers, She is also survived by her sister, Vicki Freeman; and brother, Roger D. Bartee. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with Elaine.

Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Leonard "Ted" Jay Bartee; mother, Mary Lois Ezell Crosby; and brother, Charles L. Bartee.

Elaine attended Shoreline Baptist Church years ago where she found comfort and community. Her infectious laughter and warm presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, dedication to others, and love for life's simple pleasures. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the hearts of many during her time on earth.


She will be laid to rest at Morriston Cemetery in Petal, MS, at a later date, and will be announced once planned.
