Elaine Champoux

Elaine Donston Champoux, age 92, of Latimer, passed away on August 22, 2017. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, one of ten children. She was a member of the Gulf Coast Family Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Champoux; her parents; and her siblings. She is survived by her nieces and nephews. Elaine loved to laugh and tell stories. She had a beautiful spirit. She was funny and very social. It seemed that she was everyone's Aunt as she loved to take care of folks. She was very hospitable, always willing to help. She took in many as her own children. She was married to Ray for 48 years. She was a banker and a home healthcare provider. She had red hair like Lucille Ball, always curled. She was very respectful and gracious even to those who didn't hold the same convictions she had. She loved seafood especially shrimp. She was a great cook and made the best brownies and homemade custard pie. She served her church and her community well.
