Elaine Chambers, 93, of Gulfport, passed away November 4, 2013 in Gulfport.
She was born November 7, 1919 in Amite County. She was a waitress at Angelo's Restaurant in Gulfport for many years and a hairdresser for many of her friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport where she was the activities director for the singles group. Elaine was an outstanding cook, especially her seafood gumbo, and loved to entertain her family and friends, whether family reunions or just get-togethers. She loved everyone's children and would have been 94 on Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her husband Erwin Lee Chambers; three sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her sister Bernice Orr of Gulfport; Numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends and caretakers, Lillie Dickens and Butch Jordan.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
