Elaine Elizabeth Brechtel, lovingly known as Lainey, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at her home in Saucier, Mississippi. Born on March 10, 1957, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Elaine lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an abiding love for her family and community.

A proud graduate of Andrew Jackson School, Elaine embarked on her professional journey as a legal secretary throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Yet, her greatest commitment was always to her role as a homemaker—a devoted wife, a committed mother, and a loving grandmother. She enriched the lives of all who knew her with her vibrant spirit, boundless kindness, and a heart full of generosity.

Elaine was a beautiful, smart, chaotic, loving, and fun woman whose presence brought joy and comfort. Known for making sure those around her carried a light heart and a full belly, she leaves behind cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Beyond her family and career, Elaine was an avid animal lover, gardener, and birdwatcher. Her connection to nature and compassion extended to her active membership at Northwood Church, where she nurtured her faith and forged meaningful relationships.

Elaine’s legacy is carried forward by her beloved husband of 30 years, Michael Brechtel; her daughters, Stormy Monday Drezinski and Misty Hunter; grandchildren Kaylie Rayne Hunter, Andy Hunter, Jr., Kenneth Hunter, Elizabeth Hunter, Skylar Hunter, Sage Hunter, Raynie Peterson, and Ava Lynn Peterson; great-grandchildren Treyton and Keanu; and Shawn Peterson, whom she loved like a son. They will deeply miss her guidance, love, and spirited presence.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Drezinski, Jr.; son-in-law, Andy Hunter; her sisters, Cheryl and Diane; along with other siblings and family members. Their memories remain a treasured part of her enduring story.

Elaine held dear causes that reflected her compassionate soul. She was proud to support the Humane Society of South Mississippi, the Arbor Day Foundation, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital—organizations that exemplified her commitment to caring for others, nature, and children in need.

Family, friends, and all who were touched by Elaine’s life will gather for visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, located at 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, Mississippi.

Elaine Elizabeth Brechtel’s memory is a light that will continue to shine—her love, her laughter, and her spirit forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
