Edward O. Reid, Sr., 84, of Pass Christian passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Oscar Reid and a brother Larry Reid.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred "ZuZu" Sprinkle Reid; his children Eddie Reid, Jr. (Donna), Terri Webb (Charlie), Yvette Allen (David), Michelle Lassabe (Carl), and Marsha Reid; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Deanna, Tiffany, Andy (Erin), Stephanie (Zach), Jonathon, CJ, Bailey, Courtney and Cameron; 5 step-grandchildren, Penny, Amy, Chad, Timothy and Courtney; 8 great grandchildren, sister Peggy Reid Gunter and many nieces and nephews.
Eddie attended St. Joseph's High School and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He served as vice president of Mississippi Coast Municipal Association and on the Pass Christian Board of Aldermen and planning commission. He was a past member of St. Paul Carnival Association and was King Christian XXXVIII in 1971. He served on the Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees for 40 years and was the co-founder and former president of All South Electric, Inc.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 18
th
from 11:00am-12:00pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12pm in the church. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o Holy Family Parrish, 22342 Evangeline Rd. Pass Christian, MS 39571.
