Edward ""Joe"" Ladner, age 79, of Gulfport, passed away on April 17, 2013 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander Ladner and Minerva Ladner; sisters, Iva Mae Hamel; Ida Mae Aaron, Sylvia Ladner, and Lois Dangler; and brothers, Roland Ladner and Sherman Ladner.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Ladner of Lizana; four children, Eddie (Sherran) Ladner, Roger (Amy) Ladner, Elaine Ladner, and Mickey (Nancy) Saucier; siblings, Neomia (Charles) Creel, Joby (Debbie) Ladner, and Orene Ladner (sister in law); eight grandchildren, Shelene (Adam) Knight, Shanna Ladner, Mia (Chad) Lee, Nicole (Tommy) Ladner, Andy Ray Patton, Joseph Saucier, Wade Saucier, and Allison (Greg) Laney; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lizana. A barber for 56 years, he owned and operated The Corner Beauty and Barber Shop in Gulfport for 47 years. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the VFW and American Legion and was a past president of the Jaycees.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lizana with a visitation from 9:00 AM until the Mass. Burial with military honors will follow at Wedgeworth Cemetery.
