Edward Dougherty

Edward “Ed” Michael Dougherty, age 72, of Pearlington, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 peacefully at his home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis William Dougherty, Sr.; wife, Patricia Woods Dougherty;  his mother, Marion Ryan Dougherty; his sisters, Sharon Dougherty and Patricia Dougherty; and his brothers, William Dougherty, Jr., Dennis Dougherty and Gerald Dougherty.

Survivors include his daughters, Anna Marie Papas and Michelle Anne Dougherty; his granddaughters, Kandace Duffy Richardson (Scott), Kirsten Marie Duffy; Kristen Lynn Tillery (Benjamin), Lyla White and Neisha Schwartz (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia, Hanna, Branson, Hayden, Derek Jr., Levi, Blaine, Lillie Mae, Shiya and Akira; and his nieces and nephews, Francis, Dan, Tom, Tim, Patricia and Laurie.

Mr. Dougherty was a native of Elmire, New York. He formerly has lived in Elmira, New York, Chicago, Illinois, Del Rio, Texas, Houma, Louisiana and Pearlington, Mississippi.  After high school and became a Master Chief Engineer for 40 years and a Divemaster for 6 years.

He enjoyed hot rods, motorcycles (Harley’s), diving and he traveled to Africa over 10 times.  He was a supporter of NRA, the State Trooper Association and an member of the Harley Owners Group.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020, beginning at 12:00pm at their home, 5028 9th Ave., Pearlington, MS  39572 for both Ed and his wife Patricia, who passed away 2 months prior.
