Edith B. Crabtree, born February 7, 1942 in Dublin, Ireland, passed away September 4, 2013 in Vancleave, MS.
Edith was preceded in death by her precious baby boy Leonard Benway, Jr., of France; father, George Skinner of Ireland; mother Margaret Smith of Biloxi; and step-father, Lester Smith of York, PA.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Susan Benway of Vancleave, MS; her heart and care giver for 12 years her grandson Matthew Taylor of Vancleave, MS and his daughter Jade Taylor; Edith's first great grandchild who was born St. Patrick's Day 2000; grandson Patrick (Helene) Taylor of Gulfport, MS; and great grandchildren, Daunte', Miracle, and Hazel Taylor. Edith also has two sisters, Ann (Charlie) Brown of England and Mabel (Michael) Doyle of Ireland; and many nieces and nephews. Edith believed God gifts us with good friends, some of hers were Margie (Jimmy) May; Margies mother, Mrs. May; ex son-in-law, Rodney Taylor; Brent (Tiffany) Taylor and children, Shayla and Donovan; Tyrone Edgerton and Lance Davis.

She so believed in this and worked at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, MS till her retirement in 2001. With almost 30 years of dedicated service and many awards and service medals given to her over her career.
Mrs. Edith was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, MS, where her grandson Matthew will still attend in her memory with love and ever lasting grief for her passing and letting an angel leave this earth by herself, ""I am sorry granny"".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, D'Iberville with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00am until the mass. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport assisted the family with arrangements. An online obituary may be viewed and memories shared at www.riemannfamily.com
