Edgar Symmes

Edgar Poe Symmes III, 68, passed from this life on January 4, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Courtenay Symmes, and his mother Betty Symmes.
He is survived by his father Edgar Poe Symmes Jr.; his children, Will Symmes and wife Katy, Cowles Symmes and wife Mary Beth, Christen Symmes Blaine and husband David, Chris Symmes, & Colten Symmes; together with his sisters Jill Stewart, Candy Lambert, and brother Bryce Symmes. Poe had 9 grandchildren Ford, Yates, Mary Frances, Hannah, Mallory, Cade, Brooks, Tate, and Piers.
Poe graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and majored in Criminal Justice. He served in the military and received a medical honorary discharge. Poe loved sports and enjoyed coaching his children for many years.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 5007 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport, MS with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior. Burial will be private. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport is serving the family.
