We celebrate the life of Dylan Carl Higginbotham, who passed away on May 21, 2026.

Dylan was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 31, 1998, to mother, Miriam Governale and father, James Higginbotham. He was a beloved brother to Eric and Laurie Shanks, and Heather and Becca Koch and the proud uncle of Gabriel, Madison, and Jordan Shanks. He was also a loved grandson, nephew, and dear friend. Dylan spent his childhood years in the Jackson area and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and touched many lives along the way. He lived his life absolutely and authentically, and that showed up in how he loved every single one of his family and friends.

Those who knew Dylan will remember his loyalty, his love, and his humor. Dylan loved food, music, skateboarding, animals, and enjoying life with friends and family. He had a way of bringing people together and making people laugh that will always be cherished.

Please join us Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home located at 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39532, for a visitation service at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to local animal shelters such as Humane Society of South Mississippi or Jackson County Animal Shelter may be made in Dylan’s honor.
