Dwane Doreen Webster Huderson

September 18, 1951 — March 15, 2016

Dwane Doreen Webster Huderson, born September 18, 1951 in New Orleans, LA to the late Albert McKinley Webster and Hazel Hurley Webster. She was formerly married to Dwellie F. Huderson and to that union was born two children, Brandy Patrice Huderson, PhD and Ashley Corrin Huderson, PhD.
Dwane was a member of Brooks Shaw Temple United Methodist Church. As a member of Brooks Shaw Temple UMC, Dwane was chair of the Hospitality Committee where she served with fervor. Dwane was also a key member of the choir, where she led the praise period and many times was a lead soloist for the choir.
Dwane graduated from Xavier Prep High School and University of New Orleans. She was inducted into the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1974. Dwane was employed by the State of Louisiana as a Social Worker where she loved being able to help children and families.
Dwane passed from this earth in the early hours of March 15th. Dwane leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Brandy P. Huderson, PhD, and Ashley C. Huderson, PhD; her sister, Cheryl Webster Thompson (John); her brother, Cyril H. Webster (Yolanda); her beloved Aunt, Vertlee H. Washington; her former husband, Dwellie F. Huderson; her adopted granddaughters, Chakora S. and Tamia R. Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Dwane touched the lives of many people with her underlying faith in God, her courage, determination and willingness to always help others. We will all have fond memories of this beautiful life.
The memorial service for Dwane Huderson will be held at Dillard University's Lawless Memorial Chapel on April 2, 2016. Delta Sigma Theta's Omega, Omega Service will be held at 8:30 AM. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM with the service starting at 10:00AM. A repast will be held in Dillard University's Kearney Hall.
