James V. "Dutch" Franke, Jr., age 80, of Long Beach, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, with his loving companion, Debi Allen, by his side. Dutch was born on July 5, 1945, in Gulfport, MS. He was preceded in death by his father James V. Franke, Sr. and his sister, Ruby Coleman.
Dutch is survived by his mother, Everetta Franke; brother, Morris Franke (Susan); sister, Susie Blackwell; companion, Debi Allen; daughters, Kimberly Shea Franke-Seymour (Earl), Crystal Sherrell Franke, Kendra Franke King-Necaise (Robert), Robin Jackson (Robert), Amanda “Mandy” Franke (Richard Scott, Jr.); son, Michael “Mike” D. Dearman Sr.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many, many friends who were like family to him.
Throughout his work life, Dutch was a heavy equipment operator. For many years, he operated his own business, Dutch’s Do It All (DDIA). In addition to working on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Dutch was employed in several cities throughout the United States.
Dutch was passionate about his hobbies. For years he loved owning and racing his horses. Dutch loved working on and racing his dragster. In addition, Dutch loved boating and camping, most recently at his place in Discovery Bay.
The family wishes to thank Kelly Peck and Monica Smith from Legacy Hospice for their loving care.
Visitation for friends will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Allen Cemetery.
