Douglas Raymond Bumstead, 68, current resident of Biloxi, passed away Friday November 9, 2018.
Born on June 8, 1950 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, he served in the US Army as an MP in Korea. After his service, he worked as an operator and laborer for various construction companies across the country including, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Doug enjoyed listening to old country music, being near the beach, and visiting with friends. He had a great sense of humor, a good heart, and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Rose Bumstead; brothers, Donald and Frederick Bumstead; and son, Harrison Donald Bumstead.
Doug is survived by his beloved daughter, Brandy (Josh) Holder and grandson, Nathaniel of Aubrey, TX.; sisters, Sharon Downs of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Judith Daley and Jeanne McGahey both of Marquette, MI; brother Melvin Bumstead of Leesburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of cards and flowers the family asks that donations to the VA mental health programs be considered.
